Who We Are
A registered voluntary social services organisation from Kattankudy, working since 2010 to rebuild lives through education, health, livelihood and reconciliation.
Why ASWA Was Founded
Over three decades of conflict in Sri Lanka, together with tensions between religions, languages and policies, left many people with heavy losses in education, health, security, economic stability and livelihood. We saw communities held back by these setbacks, and saw the need to help them rehabilitate and rebuild a prosperous life.
ASWA was therefore formed in 2010 with the valuable advice and guidance of our founder and the contributions of social enthusiasts. Our graduates and undergraduates apply their knowledge and experience to overcome these challenges and to ensure the sustainable development of children, women and people in need, in education, health, security and livelihood, while promoting reconciliation among communities.
